In today's world, digitalization is a process that gradually spreads to various spheres of human existence. Be it social, economic or cultural systems, none of them have escaped this sign of progress. However, let's not forget that everything has both its advantages and disadvantages. Especially when it comes to the process of digitalization in the field of culture. The use of digital technologies in culture is gaining more and more momentum. Thus, their implementation in traditional museums in order to create a more dynamic, interactive and accessible space for visitors opens up certain perspectives. Since a modern person is a kind of «application» for various gadgets, thanks to digital museums there is an opportunity to form a person's interest in cultural life. In particular, multimedia presentations and virtual reality make visiting the museum exciting. And their very form of creation is attractive. Digitized collections make it possible to expand the audience and attract visitors from any continent. Museum activity in digital form also allows to improve the educational process, which is expressed not only in interactive tours, but also in all kinds of courses created thanks to the same digital tools. Despite this, one should not forget that the digitization of museum exhibits and collections allows to preserve cultural heritage, provides access to it and popularizes it among a wide audience. But there are a number of disadvantages behind this process. This is the loss of the authenticity of the museum space, and the detachment of the audience, and the need for new and new forms of interest, etc. Actually, we intend to talk about all these and other aspects of digitalization of the museum space in our article.
