During the long history of the nation's development, Ukrainians formed, accumulated and enriched their own system of cultural heritage. Both material and immaterial values were always collected in order to be able to teach, as well as to pass on knowledge, values and experience to the next generations, which would form a sense of belonging to a particular community. Cultural heritage covers various forms of people's heritage, such as customs, language or architecture, music, literature and much more. To the extent that the foundation of cultural heritage was formed, the valuable totality that they caused in the horizon of the formation of human identity gained weight. Thus, thanks to archaeological finds, historical documents and architectural monuments, people gradually learned about the history of their ancestors. This made it possible to form a sense of belonging to a single historical chain and strengthen the sense of belonging to a certain nation. Rituals, customs and cultural traditions gathered into a single system of values paved the way for teaching the foundations of the foundations of social life. The language, which has passed many tests on the way to its individuality and which serves not only as a means of communication, but also as an expression of the worldview, history and culture of the people, in its conscious use has acquired the status of a defining criterion of the identity of the people. Manifestations and criteria of the influence of cultural heritage on the formation of national identity, which are mentioned above, are a completely non-exhaustive list. But the already mentioned testifies to the potential that is contained even in the smallest things of culture. Unfortunately, the present situation in which Ukrainians found themselves faced the difficult task of preserving this heritage. In the conditions of a military conflict, this task is not easy, because the aggressor country deliberately tries to destroy and destroy the values of the people in order to undermine its spirit. Thus, in the article we will talk about the importance of cultural heritage in the being of the people and the need to preserve it in the conditions of a military conflict.
