Abstract

The article is devoted to issues of complex analysis of the concept of “work” through the prism of modern philosophical research. The topicality of the topic is due to the lack of scientific research works that would investigate the ontological connections of labor interests and needs of the individual and society within the limits of philosophical theory. The purpose of the study is to identify the axiological aspects of the right to work from the standpoint of deepening ideas about the patterns of changes in value orientations under the influence of systemic factors of societal transformation. The main evolutionary elements of the development of thinkers’ thoughts in relation to the analysis of the “law to work” phenomenon are substantiated. Economic and social approaches to understanding the specified concept have been developed. The key characteristics are succinctly outlined. A theory is proposed that partially explains the increase in scientific interest in the multifaceted study of the concept of “work”. The main Marxist ideas and understanding of “work” are studied and the diversity of types of labor activity is emphasized, which reflects the potential complexity of this concept. The content of the social division of labor, the relationship between “human qualities” and “the nature of the work performed” was analyzed. The consequences of the primitiveness of work, the lack of social benefit and aesthetic satisfaction, which are reflected in professional burnout as a psychological state, are reflected. The powerful axiological content of work as a key element of the value system of society, which is reflected in social reality, material goods, self-improvement, collective spirit, and self-realization, is revealed. The circle of questions that are at the center of scientific research of modern philosophers is outlined. As prospects for further scientific research, it is proposed to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the treatises of representatives of Chinese and Indian philosophy from the point of view of the right to work.
