Abstract

The article is devoted to the urgent problem of reception of religious consciousness in modern research of neuropsychology of religion and anthropology of religion. Religious consciousness is studied in the study as a psychological fact, while the factors of its truth or illusory nature are eliminated. Religious consciousness and religiosity of the individual are considered in the context of general psychological and socio-psychological laws. Religious consciousness in the study is considered through the prism of such components as religious faith, sensory forms, images created by the imagination, symbolism, allegory, dialogicity, strong emotional saturation, combination of content adequate to reality with inadequate. It is determined that religious consciousness, being one of the forms of consciousness, is endowed with a certain attitude to the “ultimate instance”, formal invariance, transcendence and subjective certainty. It is emphasized that the psychological nature of consciousness, in a certain aspect, determines the emergence of religious consciousness. Having the property of transcendence, consciousness transcends reality. Religious consciousness, obviously, is one of the options for a “reflexive exit” beyond the boundaries of everyday reality. It is noted that an important component of religious consciousness is religious feelings, which in the article are considered as the emotional attitude of believers to hypostasized beings recognized as objective, attributed properties and connections, to sacralized things, persons, places, actions, to each other and to themselves, as well as to religiously interpreted individual phenomena in the world and to the world as a whole. It is emphasized that not every experience can be considered religious, but only those that are combined with religious ideas, ideas, narratives, and as a result acquire the appropriate direction, content and meaning. It is noted that the question of true and false in religious consciousness is endowed with relevance within the religious systems themselves. True intention is internally present in every affirmative and negative judgment. It is noted that a similar tendency is also relevant for religious statements, regardless of how truth is interpreted and how its criteria are determined.
